I recently bought a Mac Book Pro (I have a PC desktop) and it's time for a new cell phone. While I am seduced by the iPhone, I am a Verizon wireless customer and most of my friends and family are "in." I am currently weighing whether I really need a smartphone given the price of data plans, so all suggestions are appreciated.

And if you converted to AT&T for the iPhone and are happy about it - let me know that too.
